Suspects Sought in Brazen Robbery Spree Across Queens and Brooklyn

The New York Police Department is on the hunt for a group of armed robbers who have been targeting victims through social media platforms, luring them to meet-up locations before violently assaulting and robbing them. The suspects, described as an Asian man and woman, have carried out a series of high-profile heists over the past two months, amassing tens of thousands of dollars in cash and valuables from their unsuspecting prey.

Ruthless Criminals Terrorize Neighborhoods with Coordinated Attacks

Kissena Park Ambush: Thousands Stolen at Gunpoint

The latest incident in this disturbing pattern occurred on June 10th, when the suspects arranged to meet a 33-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man near Kissena Park in Auburndale, Queens. As the victims arrived at the designated location on Pidgeon Meadow Road and Fresh Meadow Road, they were confronted by four armed assailants. One of the suspects brandished a firearm, while the others physically assaulted the woman, repeatedly striking her. The criminals then forcibly removed ,700 in cash and other personal property from both victims before fleeing the scene.Investigators believe this attack is part of a broader two-month spree, during which the suspects have been using social media to lure their victims to specific locations, only to ambush and rob them at gunpoint. Just a day prior to the Kissena Park incident, the same group is suspected of carrying out a similar heist in Queensboro Hill, where they made off with approximately ,000 in cash and other valuables after assaulting a 22-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man.

Brazen Robberies Across Queens and Brooklyn

The suspects' criminal activities first came to light on May 27th, when they arranged to meet a 27-year-old man in Murray Hill, Queens. As the victim arrived at the designated plaza on 138-23 39th Avenue, he was immediately set upon by the group, who beat him with their fists, leaving him injured. The assailants then fled the scene with several hundred dollars in cash.Just hours later, the same suspects resurfaced in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, where they targeted an 18-year-old woman at 8807 19th Avenue. While the details of this incident remain unclear, the criminals managed to escape with approximately ,000 of the victim's money.

Surveillance Footage Offers Clues to Suspects' Identities

In an effort to apprehend the suspects, the NYPD has released surveillance images of the two ringleaders. One is described as an Asian man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the word "Celine" written in white across the chest, black shorts, and sweat socks with flip-flops. The second suspect is an Asian woman with long, dark hair featuring dyed streaks, who was spotted wearing a white tank top.A reward of up to ,500 has been offered for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspects. The public is urged to contact the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline or submit tips through the department's online platform, as the investigation continues. The 109th Precinct, which has jurisdiction over the majority of the reported incidents, has seen a slight increase in robberies so far in 2024, with 175 cases reported by the end of June, compared to 170 at the same point the previous year. Authorities are determined to put an end to this brazen robbery pattern and bring the perpetrators to justice before they can strike again.
